My daughter picked us up a few pastas to go. She said everyone there was so friendly and inviting and even great her by name. The pasta was delicious and the helpings were fairly large. Although it is costly so not sure I'll be back. The food is great if you are looking for delicious fresh pasta

Had the opportunity to try "Fatto a Mano" for lunch, a small pasta shop Redondo Beach Ca. Both chef Marco and Arlene Pacelli are both passionate about their food, and highly express; through service and commitment for excellence. "Fatto a Mano delivers an authentic Italian pasta experience under the passionate guidance of Chef Marco, whose dedication to customer satisfaction is evident in every dish. During a visit with six fellow food enthusiasts, we sampled their diverse menu of handcrafted pasta and Roman-style pizza, with each dish perfectly executed (al dente). While the hour-long wait for all dishes reflects their made-to-order commitment, the results justify the patience. While every dish impressed, pasta is undoubtedly the star attraction at Fatto a Mano.

This is homemade real deal fresh pasta and pizza. So delicious and so friendly! We love the owners. I recommended takeout since it is a small place. You won't regret eating their food:)

Reserve your pasta in advance. Cuz you make an order, and they give you a time to return in the future when your pasta is ready. My favorite is their Cacio e Pepe, but you should go with whatever noodle and whatever sauce you feel like.

A quaint Mom and Pop shop in a strip mall in Redondo Beach that gives you a taste of Italian hospitality without the jet lag. This place is a tiny 3 table restaurant. The tables seat two comfortably. This is not a place you can come with a group but it looks like you could get take out. When you come in, we were immediately greeted by the owners. One was the hostess and the other the chef. It feels like you were invited over to your friend's house. You know, your friends who know how to entertain and cook. They asked you your names and used them throughout the meal to ask how everything was. They explained the menu thoroughly. My brother and I split a Caesar salad, ordered a slice of their Roman style of pizza (the Romagnola) and two pasta dishes (the bolognese and amatriciana). They had trays of the fresh pasta for you to look at in a case right in the front and were helpful in selecting a fitting pasta for the sauce you were interested in. The Caesar was standard. Easily shareable. The slice of pizza, cut in 6 pieces, each about 2-2.5 inch squares, was warm, about an inch thick, had a great crust and char. The combo of the cheese, arugula and ham was outstanding. It was my favorite dish of the night. The pastas... my brother enjoyed his spaghetti bolognese and I enjoyed my pappardelle amatriciana. My dish had a nice kick. The pasta was cooked al dente. Just as warm and comforting as the food, were the owners. Honestly, they were engaging and I could tell they enjoyed what they were doing. I don't know if they routinely offer this to everyone, but they gave us a complimentary shot glass of this very rich Italian hot chocolate drink. It was delicious. I think one was plenty. Overall, I will be returning. This place is a total gem.

This pasta is some of the best I have ever had, and on par with extremely high end Italian restaurants I have been to elsewhere in LA and the west coast. Pasta is made fresh to order but the staff lets you know approximate times so there's no surprises--we knew it would be 30-40 minutes after we ordered. We were the 3rd and 4th person (second party) to arrive at this establishment as they opened at 11:30 on a Saturday. They are located about a mile from the beach and the weather was beautiful, in a cute eclectic strip mall with a barber shop, laundromat, and burger joint. You might not expect such incredible pasta but we were blown away by the quality. The noodles were thick but tender, each bite revealed more of the subtle but incredible flavors. The raviolis were delicate and we paired it with the venison sauce which was unbelievable, every bite was so packed with flavor without being overwhelmingly heavy or intense. In the end it was plenty of food--if I were truly ravenous I could have added a pizza on to this order but it was enough for two (not small at all) men to enjoy for a delightful lunch. Finally, we enjoyed two cute cups each--one with hot chocolate unlike any other I have had, and finally a small cup of coffee. We chatted a bit with the woman who greeted us and a man came from the back to ask sincerely how we enjoyed the pasta. I haven't experienced such a personal touch from a place like this, and she remembered our names and I have no doubt would recognize us if we came back, which we intend to! If you have the time to wait for some incredible pasta and want a personal touch, Fatto a Mano is just right for you!

Prepare to be amazed! Still one of the best pasta places in the Southbay! Tiny little restaurant thats all homemade. Freshly made pasta that's cooked to perfection paired with the most delicious sauces! Marco and his wife are always friendly and make an appoint to know your name! You aren't just another face in their shop, but a friend. Authentic Italian pasta...wont find a better place!

EDIT: Not too long after dining here, I tried a different restaurant that also specialized in fresh pastas. The price point is very similar to Fatto a Mano but I rated it 5 stars. If you're curious why, read my review here, the owners comments to my review, and compare it with my review for Nonna Mercato. If you want a TLDR - Great pasta but snarky owner who is doing himself a disservice. Go to Nonna Mercato instead. I'll be going there and not coming back here again. ------- Adding to my review because of the snarky comments of the owner. See below. First, I do know how to make pasta from scratch and so make it myself at home. I have made cacio e pepe and most of the other pasta sauces/preparations this shop makes. I came here to try the food and the fresh pasta because I've heard good things about it and wanted to see if I can use it as a substitute to my own home made pasta for when I don't have the time. As I wrote in my original, shorter review which I have not changed, the quality is very good. I am not changing my rating just because of the snarky comments from the owner, but I will certainly think twice about coming back again. Heard about this pasta shop and lunch counter so one day I came here for a solo lunch. Ordered cacio e pepe and was very satisfied. It was excellent. However, it is a little pricey and given it's a no-frills kind of place, in my opinion, this is a spot to get fresh pasta when you want to upgrade your pasta dinner. Or if you want an indulgent lunch and don't want to make your own pasta. And the photo is from earlier this year. Yes, I'm always behind on writing reviews but the experience is factual and valid.

Arlene, Evelyn, Marco, thank you for creating such a beautiful experience for the south bay community!! The service was really 10/10. The owners actually have a conversation with you, and they're the nicest folks in town! The vibes are cozy and homey, they greet you so warmly and help you through their menu, which changes every two months by the way. Everything on their menu is perfected with love. We ordered the following: Estiva - basil pesto, tomato confit, flor de latte mozzarella The bread was soft, but well baked and delicious. The cheese and pesto combo was creamy and savoury, and well contrasted by the plum tomatoes sweet and tartness. The basil leaves on top really added to the freshness of the Amatriciana - writing this as I lick the plate clean! The amatriciana was such a good balance of Smokey and spicy. This rich Smokey flavor hits your tongue as you take your first bite, followed by perfectly caramelised onions, the pork guanciale was perfectly cut and melted in your mouth, the peccorino, and ghost peppers were beautifully folded in... I wish I could relive my first bite! They gave everyone delicious, rich hot chocolate to end the meal. An absolute delight!
